Specialized S-Works Venge Red HRR - 2014

Specialized S-Works Venge Red HRR

Details

Specialized's S-Works Venge is one of the stiffest, most aerodynamic bikes in the professional ranks! Its FACT 11r-carbon frame was tuned and tweaked in the wind tunnel for maximum aerodynamic advantage. Its blade-like tapered fork meshes seamlessly with the massive aero down tube, which in turn works with the rear wheel cutout and asymmetrical, airfoil-shaped seatstays to minimize drag to the nth degree. If that wasn't enough, the Venge utilizes a supremely aerodynamic seatpost that boasts a reversible head so you can dial in the setback and find the perfect position. A frameset this incredible needs equally incredible parts. Topping that list is SRAM's ultra-high-tech RED 22 group and hydraulic rim brakes for unreal stopping power and precision. Plus, the ceramic bearing-equipped Roval Rapide CLX 60 wheels cheat the wind and spin forever for ultimate speed.

Specialized's Venge is an all-out aero race machine built to fly off the front, take powerful pulls for the team and get you across the line first. Highlights include:

The Venge's stout and minimal front end optimizes your performance with lightness, stiffness, and excellent aerodynamics. The tail of the Venge is as skinny as the front end to clean noisy air and add even more wind-cheating aero efficiency. The aerodynamic seatpost cuts drag, too, is extra stiff and graduated for easily setting and maintaining your seat height.

The Venge's massive bottom bracket junction maximizes your power transfer for awesome jumps and sprints. Beefy chainstays and seatstays ensure outstanding efficency for powering down the road, dancing over climbs and dominating sprints. Specialized's engineers went as far as designing a headset top cap that smooths the air over and around the stem for additional wind cheating.

This frame utilizes Specialized’s advanced FACT IS (Integrated Structure) construction method. By separating the frame into four main parts — the front triangle, seat tube/bottom bracket, chainstays and seatstays — Specialized is able to optimize each carbon piece for its specific purpose and create a structure that’s incredibly light, impeccably stiff and impressively strong.

This frame’s head tube and fork are 1 3/8 inches in diameter at the bottom and 1 1/8 inches at the top. This maximizes front-end stiffness for awesome steering precision and control, while allowing the use of standard 1 1/8-inch stems without adding weight.
